Having grown up with extended family get togethers, food was the heart of each event, the bonding and conversation, created a mood for all to enjoy and grow. I watched my Grandmother, aunt and uncle (both chefs) creating various levels of masterpieces. Creating delicious sweet treats for birthdays, full on smorgasbord meals to sit-down and graze with all included.


These were lengthy affairs, warming, inclusive. There were the Sunday Roasts every week for lunch, where we would all be fulfilled with the lamb, chicken, beef that was on offer. Corned beef was popular in winter months. It was ingrained in our society that this was normal, the rush hustle and activity over the years has pushed it all to one side.
